Go Grizzlies!!!
TEAM EXCEL is doing a fundraiser....we are selling aluminum water bottles for $4. We are taking pre-orders in room 10 and 11, with Mrs. Blomquist and Mrs. Gimblett. This is part of our slogan this year- Gridley Goes Green!! Students will pay when they come in!! The water bottles are green, 26 oz.
Due to the severe budget cuts by the State of Arizona, our school is forced with a crisis of not being able to offer after-school activities which include various clubs, drama, and sports for the children we serve. In order for these programs to continue, Gridley needs to immediately raise more than $7,000 in Tax Credit donations. A tax credit of $25 towards the "Most Needed" area at Gridley is a great help! The allowable Tax Credit is $400/per married couple filing jointly - start now, and that's just $67/month!! Start in Aug, and it's $80/month! Designate a sport, fine art program or club - it is needed in all areas!! Do you have an 8th grader planning on going on the Washington DC/New York trip? You can collect tax credits to help offset that expense! (Ask someone that doesn't have a child in school to donate!) Past students have collected enough credits to pay for their entire trip!! Visit this TUSD site for more info on the tax credits.
Donations....
Counseling office request: Donations of everyday supplies, like Kleenex, hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, notebook paper, pencils, colored pencils, scotch tape, composition books, spiral notebooks, dry erase markers, manilla folders, two-pocket folders and 3-ring binders are always appreciated and needed in the counseling office for transient kids that come our way, or some who can't afford supplies. Thanks!
Mrs. Scheppe is also looking for items to "reward" our teachers/staff at upcoming
Wednesday staff meetings. In the past we have had restaurant gift cards, dry cleaning gift cards,
massages (always a favorite!), small gifts, etc... There is a drawing amongst those in attendance.
If you are able to assist , please contact Mrs. Scheppe. Thank-you!!!
**************************
Did you know that Gridley can accept Tax Credit donations all year long - and that you can specify what you would like them to be used for? Will you have an 8th grader going on the big 8th grade trip to DC/NY? Or parents of 7th grade, you can start contributing to that expense now! How about a child in student council or band or orchestra? You can donate to a specific team or sport too (soccer, track & field, basketball, etc.) Starting in September...just $100/month sent to Gridley for your tax credit, and you'll have your $400 for the 2009 tax year! (For married couples) And you can have others donate for your student too! You can make your contribution by credit card online or write a check and submit a printable form and bring it to the office.
